Caprese Candy Cane Board

This is perfect appetizer that truly brings the holiday spirit and will be devoured in no time! This is the Your Life Nutrition version of a Candy Cane! One filled with Vitamin A rich Tomatoes, layered with Fresh Mozzarella, some fresh Basil leaves, and my favorite part -- the Olive Oil & Balsamic drizzle!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Log sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 3 Large Tomatoes sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 9 Whole Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 2 Tablespoons Balsamic Glaze optional
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil optional
  • Salt & Pepper optional

Instructions

  • Wash tomatoes and slice into 1/4 inch slices.
  • Remove mozzarella from packaging and slice into 1/4 inch pieces.
  • On a flat serving tray, arrange tomato and mozzarella slices in an alternating fashion in order to resemble a candy cane.
  • Tuck fresh basil leaves into the caprese candy cane.
  • If you want to amp up the flavor of this delicious cheese board, drizzle balsamic glaze (not balsamic vinegar) along with olive oil on top of the candy cane board.
  • Top with fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste.
  • Enjoy!

Serve with crackers, sliced bread or on its own!
